about

We have before us this collection of songs about Irish women's lives, recorded by Treasa Healy in her 70th year, in Irish, as Gaeilge. Treasa introduces each song to us in English and then performs them with deep sentiment, grace, and dexterity. She is accompanied by James Stephens' elegant arrangements and luminous playing.

We are releasing this magnificent collection on Treasa's birthday in honour of her life-long commitment to music in its many forms. May you enjoy these songs and stories as a journey with Treasa through the breadth of women’s sorrow and joy. Gol agus Gáire na mBan.
